My Introduction
Last week was our EOTC week for the Pohutukawa
Syndicate. We spent the whole week doing cool stuff. We went to different places to learn new stuff and to end the week off we did really fun things.
What we did
On Monday we all walked to the Aotea Lagoon, had some fun and then walked back to school. Then it was Tuesday and it was survival day (but to be honest the only fun thing was Mrs Bruess McBride ). Now we were up to the second best part of the week which was Te papa, Nga Taonga sound and vision and the big sleepover. Finally the most exciting thing of the week Te Rauparaha Arena. Which not to mention was my favourite part of the week.
Te Papa
When we went to Te Papa we had to be split up into groups with and audlt. My group got Whaea Rachelle which really made me happy but sad at the same time because I really wanted Liana ( Nina sister). Then the teachers gave our group a specific topic of work sheets, our group got Māori history which was fun because I like to learn different thing about different cultures.
My Favourite Part
My favourite part of the week was going to the pools because we got to end a good week with something fun and because we go to do anything we wanted to, but the best thing was the inflatable course. I also liked the sleepover at school because I got to spend it with my friends. But some people ruined it because when we were playing spotlight they said that they saw a clown so we had to stop and then some people started crying to go home because they were really scared.
My Least Favourite Part
The part that I didn’t like the most was on Tuesday because I got the wrong idea when they said we were having a survival day. I thought it was what Kahikatea did last year but nope it was all about how to survive but I did like Mrs Bruess Mcbride’s one. I also didn’t like the Nga Taonga sound and vision because the whole presentation except for the commercials at the end made me and other people fall asleep.
What I Learned
I learned heaps of things about the Māori history and that Wellington and Porirua are not the same as they were back in the olden days. Like I didn't know that Maui had a sister but he does and her name is Hina and I thought that Wellington in the olden days kind of looked like New York City but really windy and did you know that Wellington is a really windy capital.
